5 Easy Ways to Take Care of Your Eyes ~ #NaturesRemedy

A few months ago I shared that my vision was deteriorating and a break was needed while I get it all sorted out. Today in collaboration with Quantum Health, I want to share a few easy ways that you can take care of your eyes.

This year has been one stress factor after another, and at times I’ve felt like throwing in the towel, but I’m eternally grateful for the few family and friends that I have in my corner. When it comes to taking care of your eyes, we take a lot for granted. It wasn’t until the almost total loss of my sight that I started paying attention.

If you’re a regular to my site, then you know that I only speak of products that I’ve personally used and can attest to. A few months ago Quantum Health sent me MigShield, a supplement that I swear by and have referred anyone who suffers from migraines to try. It worked wonders for me and is now a staple in my arsenal. You can read my review on how you can reduce your migraines here.

When they asked if I’d love to give their newest eye supplements Macula 30+ and Digital Blue a try, I figured why not? After all, it doesn’t hurt to give it a try right? What did I have to lose? Absolutely nothing, and everything to gain. It’s been about a month since I started using both supplements and this is not a post that is going to claim that it improved my vision overnight, as a matter of fact, since my vision wasn’t at it’s best, I had to do a few tests of my own. Did it work? YES, IT DID!! It, however, took almost a month for me to see the results *with my own eyes*.

So today I’m here to share with you five easy ways you can take care of your eyes and introduce Quantum Health’s Macula 30+ and Digital Blue!

1. VISIT YOUR EYE DOCTOR REGULARLY

First things first, visit your eye doctor regularly! No matter how great you think your vision is, you should still get a regular exam. Getting checked on a regular basis not only helps your doctor to catch a disease that you may not be aware of but can also prevent them as well. Everyone, even adults with seemingly perfect eyesight, should get a regular eye exam. Your doctor will be the one to tell you how often you should return for a visit. If you are in a high-risk category, such as those with diabetes or family history of glaucoma, you may need an eye exam more frequently.

2. LIMIT SCREEN TIME

This is a big one, and one that my doctor recommended. You may have wondered why I’m not on social media or even updating this site as I used to.  I first noticed that I would squint at the screen and the words were becoming blurred which led me to see my eye doctor. Before seeing a specialist, he recommended that I limit my screen time to no more than an hour daily and observe the 20-20-20 rule.

What’s that?

Well every 20 minutes of computer or digital use, look away from the screen and focus your gaze on an object that is at least 20 feet from you. It would help if you also blinked 20 times quickly to prevent your eyes from drying out and get out of your seat and take 20 steps, every 20 minutes. Not only does this help with your vision, but it also gets you up and going, so you’re getting a bit of exercise as well.

3. WEAR SUNGLASSES

During the summer, and indeed all year round, we focus a lot on wearing sunscreen, but did you know that wearing sunglasses is also equally important? I have to admit that I have more pairs of sunglasses in my wardrobe than I do sunscreen, as it’s not only a fashion statement, but I’m protecting my eyes from the harmful UV rays that can increase my risk for age-related macular degeneration, or even cornea sunburn.

I always make sure that to protect my eyes whenever outdoors, even on cloudy days. For those who enjoy crafting and gardening or even sports, safety glasses are also recommended to protect your eyes from bacteria, dust, and even injuries. No matter what you do, make sure that your eyes are protected. If you’re going swimming, wear goggles to avoid exposing your eyes to chlorine. Meanwhile, if you’re gardening or attending to a DIY project at home, put on safety glasses to protect your eyes from dust particles, bacteria, and injuries.

4. EAT RIGHT

Eating a healthy and balanced diet can go a long way toward eye health. While it’s recommended to have your daily servings of fruits and veggies, certain fruits and vegetables are excellent for your vision. Growing up I was always told to eat my carrots so that I could have perfect eyesight, but carrots aren’t the only food that can help you with your sight. Dark green leafy vegetables which contain Lutein, nuts, and legumes, and foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids are also vital for your eye health.

5. TAKE EYE SUPPLEMENTS

For those who think they may not be able to eat right, taking an eye supplement can help you, and that’s where Digital Blue or Macula 30+ comes in.

Macular degeneration is an incurable disease and is currently the leading cause of vision loss. Remember when you could see down the end of the block as a kid, but now can barely see down half of that same block? The older you become, your vision deteriorates. Macula 30+ was formulated to help maintain normal macular density and promote macular health as you mature and get older. It not only provides the necessary nutrient levels for people that are 40 and older but also optimizes visual performance and even supports eyesight in low light.

For those consistently on their digital devices, Digital Blue is for you! Most of us spend an exorbitant amount of time on our digital devices. Whether it’s the computer at work, or our cellphones returning phone calls and messages, the blue light produced from those digital devices can cause issues for our eyes, which was why one of the recommendations from my doctor was to reduce that screen time.

Digital Blue’s formula not only fortifies your eyes with the nutrients they need to help filter blue light and protects your eyes, but also helps to optimize visual performance and glare tolerance.

So how did I know that there were working for me? I was told to pay attention to how fast my eyes adjust when walking into a dark room or when I turn away from the glare of the screen. That’s how I knew they worked!

While my eyes will never return to 20/15, having Macula 30+ and Digital Blue in my corner will help me keep whatever vision I do have and maintain my sight. If you’re always on your digital devices and are worried about your vision or you’re concerned about Blue Light, consider picking up Macula 30+ and Digital Blue from Quantum Health and give them a try. Your eyes will thank you!
