Now that Madison is actually in school I have been trying to come up with simple ideas for lunch. I’m not the best chef and while I love cooking, preparing snacks is not my cup of tea. However my pre-schooler isn’t too picky and just loves everything that I prepare. One of the things that she does however love is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Guess what? They are so easy to make that I actually don’t mind making them myself. I however put a twist on them. Me and my eldest just loves sushi and my commissary makes the most amazing California Rolls. Well this idea was actually my oldest. Since my pre-schooler is a little too young to actually enjoy the real sushi rolls and I obviously won’t be sending raw fish to school, she came up with the idea of making peanut butter and jelly sushi rolls. When I first heard of it I thought, what?! But they are so easy to make and Madison just loves them.
Now this is what you’ll need:
PB&J Sushi Rolls
Ingredients:
Slices of Bread
Jam or Jelly of your choice
Peanut Butter
Directions:
Cut the crust off the slices of bread.
Spread the jam and peanut butter on a slice of bread
Roll and then cut in slices.
Now whenever I send these to school they never come back and I’ve heard that they’re a hit. Now we also know that peanut butter and jelly sandwiches can be super messy, so I also know that I have to send something to clean up. Always included in her lunch bag along with her lunch is always a package of Wet Ones. She never goes to school without it. I know that lunch can be messy but she will be clean and I’m not worried about germs either.
I particularly like the sensitive wipes because we do have sensitive skin and she can not only wipe her hands but her face as well. After all have you ever seen a pre-schooler whose face was clean after eating? Now she would never have to say #WishIHadWetOnes. Her teacher also loves the fact that they are so portable as well and said she has now encouraged her other parents to add them to their kids lunch boxes.
Guess we’ve started something cool!
So when you’re packing lunches for your own kids, don’t forget to add a single package of Wet Ones. They are available at Target and you can get a coupon for even more savings!
Let’s discuss: How do you keep your little one’s clean after eating and what tasty recipes do you send for lunch?
