Ways to Celebrate Star Wars Day at Home

Ways to Celebrate Star Wars Day at Home

Star Wars Day is an important day for fans and those who love the iconic movies, T.V. series, and characters in the Star Wars galaxy.

While we still have to go to work and attend school, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Star Wars Day in the comfort of your own home.

May 4th is almost here, and if you are looking for some ways to celebrate Star Wars Day, these ideas will have any Star Wars fan thrilled!

  1. Celebrate by Watching the Star Wars Movies

A common tradition that many fans take part in to celebrate Star Wars Day is to sit back, relax, and watch the Star Wars movies. Grab your favorite popcorn or movie snacks and enjoy the day immersed in the galaxy far, far away as you watch your favorite Star Wars movie or the entire collection.

Tip: If you happen to have Disney+, you have access to all of the movies as well as the cartoons and other Star Wars related movies and programs. Disney has also recorded some special Star Wars read-alongs where you can enjoy Star Wars stories read by some of the most loved characters from the films.

  1. Create a Star Wars Inspired Dish or Dessert

Skip the movie snacks and the popcorn if you want and treat yourself to a fun Star Wars inspired dish or homemade dessert.

You can also keep your traditional movie snacks if you want and spice up your morning breakfast, lunch, dinner, or after-dinner dessert with a fun Star Wars themed recipe.

Are you looking for a few ideas? Here are some fun ideas to get you started.

  • Make homemade Star Wars themed cookies that are shaped like your favorite character.
  • Create your own galaxy milk or milkshakes and add some food coloring to them for an “out of this world” treat.
  • Dip pretzel sticks in colorful icing and decorate them to look like lightsabers for a fun snack.
  • Galaxy or Star Wars themed cupcakes are a fun treat that everyone will enjoy.
  • Rice Krispie treats can easily be decorated to make a Star Wars themed treat for both kids and adults.

There are a lot of different ways to create your favorite treats or desserts into a fun Star Wars themed treat, so get creative and have fun with it!

  1. Dress Up as Your Favorite Star Wars Character

Get out your favorite Star Wars costume and wear it throughout the day. If you don’t have a Star Wars costume, you can easily find one online or raid the closets to come up with your best Star Wars outfit.

You can even get the kids involved and let them hang out at home as their favorite character as they enjoy the Star Wars movies and their favorite snacks.

Another fun thing to do while everyone is dressed up as their favorite character is to roleplay as if they were in the movie or recreate some of the famous battles in the galaxy. Of course, a fashion show wouldn’t be out of the question, and the kids will have a blast showing off their Star Wars costumes!

  1. Play Star Wars Themed Games

Star Wars is so popular that you can even find Star Wars themed games, like Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, or other board games to play with the family. If you are more into electronic games, you can also find a variety of Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or virtual reality games to play.

On May 4th, get friends, family, and others who love Star Wars to enjoy a night of games. If you have family out of town that can’t be with you in person, set up a Zoom or Skype call and play together virtually!

One game that everyone can play is Name that Star Wars Tune. Since you can find most music from the films online or through Spotify, the family can come together and test their knowledge and see who can guess the most tunes.

Another idea would be a Name that Star Wars character. To play this game, simply gather some famous, or not so famous, quotes from the movie and see who can guess which character said it.

  1. Play with Legos

Build the entire galaxy out of Legos! Whether you go out and purchase the Star Wars themed Lego kits or just have a stockpile of Legos stored away, you can spend some time creating your favorite galaxy, characters, or Star Wars ships.

  1. Have a Star Wars Party at Home

For even more fun, create your own Star Wars party and invite friends and family to take part in the activities above. What better way to celebrate the special day than by enjoying some fun activities and treats with friends and family!

Star Wars Day was created to celebrate the movie, your favorite characters, and everything you love about the galaxy far, far away. To incorporate your love for the films, just add a bit of Star Wars into your day by doing fun activities or enjoying some unique Star Wars treats at home.
