I couldn’t be more excited about this campaign featuring the Garmin Drive and the Garmin babyCam. I am a horrible driver with no sense of direction. Granted, I only have to go to a place once and I can go there again with no problem at all. I have a built in GPS in my head but if the place is new, forget about it! Unlike my husband however, I know how to ask for directions. There are however a few places that I won’t stop at to ask for those directions no matter how lost I am. That’s why I need a GPS in my life.
When I first moved to Colorado I had no idea what I was getting into. Granted, I moved because the US Army said I had to go, but I’m from a big city known for it’s public transportation, and here they were putting me in a place where there was none and I had to rely on my owning a car and knowing how to get from point A to point B, so you know what I did? I invested in a Garmin GPS and it was the best investment EVER! I actually just recently upgraded after owning it for 3 years to the Garmin Nuvi 2689LMT which is bluetooth enabled and comes with lifetime maps and traffic. But today’s post isn’t about my GPS but the new Garmin Drive that is now available.
The Garmin Drive is an easy-to-use dedicated GPS navigation system with a 5″ dual orientation display. It comes preloaded with detailed maps of the U.S, or of the U.S and Canada (depending on the model you buy). And just like the one I own it has a Real Directions™feature which guides you like a friend, using landmarks and traffic lights. Mine would tell you to “make a right at the stop sign”, “turn left after the 7-11”. I remember the first time I heard it I was really surprised because my old one had no idea that there was even a 7-11 there. It just said turn left at the “whatever street”, so this was an absolute bonus for me.
Here is a bit of info on the Garmin babyCam:
The Garmin babyCam only works with Garmin products (and cannot be added to alternate brand GPS systems). It also easily pairs up with a Garmin Personal Navigation Device so I’m super excited to pair it up with mine.
Can you feel my excitement. I know that this will help me be a much better driver. I can now keep my eyes on the road and still be able to keep an eye on my little one in her seat without having to turn around. I also can forget about using my cellphone because to be honest, I’d rather keep my battery life for more important things like phone calls and let Garmin navigate my way through the city. I’ll be sharing my experience with you but I know that you’ll want one too!
