It is no secret that I hate that dreaded C word. You know the one I’m talking about. CANCER! Unfortunately both of my parents passed away from cancer, so it’s fair to say that I have a family history of cancer, including Breast Cancer. One of my charities of choice that I always donate to, is also related to finding a cure for cancer. So whenever I get the opportunity to raise awareness I am always up for the challenge. As you know, I am also a big fan of Teleflora as from my many posts. I don’t go anywhere else when I need to send flowers, there are flowers for every occasion and the one thing I love about them is how long their bouquets last. My daughter would be the first to tell you that I have a black thumb, I have been known to kill a cactus, but my Teleflora bouquets have been known to last almost 2 weeks. Anyway, today isn’t about how long their bouquets last, but what they’re doing to help with breast cancer awareness.
I love receiving flowers, I mean, who doesn’t? After all behavioral research conducted at Harvard University “demonstrates flowers in the home make a positive impact on lives finding that people are more likely to feel happier and have more enthusiasm when flowers are in their home living environment.” However, when those flowers make a difference not just in my life, but in others, it makes me even happier, and that’s why I’m pleased to announce that Teleflora’s Pink Grace bouquet honors Breast Cancer Awareness month.
How? While most companies do a promotion in the month of October, because after all that’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Teleflora is donating 15% of the purchase price from each sale of their Pink Grace Bouquet to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation ALL YEAR-ROUND! Talk about commitment. I love a company who not only talks about it, but put their money where their mouth is.
And that’s why I LOVE Teleflora.
How many of you have lost a loved one to cancer? Many of you have lost maybe not one, but many more loved ones to cancer than any other illness. As for now there is no cure, but there are many ways that you can show your support. Here are three simple ways!
1. Raise Your Own Awareness & Encourage family and friends to go and get checked for breast cancer.
My mom would always say “one ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure”. Remember this doesn’t just affect women but also affect men as well and the sooner you’re diagnosed the better it will be.
2. Share information on your social media pages.
Almost all of us share some part of our lives on social media. Whether that may be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat. Share your support for Breast Cancer Awareness by showing that you support finding a cure.
3. Buy a Breast Cancer Awareness pin/decal.
Purchase a breast cancer awareness pinfor your clothing or car showing that you care. You can also buy the Teleflora Pink Grace Bouquet which will donate 15% of your sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The Teleflora Pink Grace bouquet is a stunning floral bouquet arrangement with a mix of pink roses, pink spray roses, hot pink carnations and soft pink alstroemeria accented with assorted greenery. I placed it in my entryway and it not only brightens up my home, but the aroma is just refreshingly fresh and crisp. I have had a lot of bouquets from Teleflora and I have to say that this is one of my favorite because of the scent, the looks and what it stands for. Kudos to Teleflora!
