The weather has been warming up here a LOT lately. Can you believe that just 2 days ago we had a 70° temperature right here in Colorado Springs? Gone are the winter jackets and in turn the spring jean jackets, and even those brave enough to wear tanks tops, can be seen. When Spring comes around most people think of spring cleaning and sprucing up their wardrobes. As a growing pre-schooler what that means for me is brand new clothing and shoes. Did someone say shoes?! A few moths ago mommy and I went to a store closing and the first thing mommy did was go to the shoe department. When she picked up a shoe for me, I said “I have shoes already” and she told me ” A woman can never have too many shoes, remember that”. I guess it must be true because as long as I can remember, in my 4 long years of living, I have always have lots and lots of shoes. However, one of the brands that I remember having was See Kai Run. You may not remember this but I reviewed a pair of See Kai Run shoes almost 2 years ago. I wore them all summer until I outgrew them and then I passed them along to someone else. That’s how amazing they are.
Well let’s get back to the subject on hand. Spring is coming and that means you want to spruce up your kids wardrobe. You most certainly can’t do that without adding a pair or two of shoes to their collection as well. I was honored to receive a few pairs of shoes from See Kai Run’s spring collection which included the Roxy, the Noel and the Mykah. Before I go into my collection here’s a little background on See Kai Run.
“In 2004, a Seattle mom was on a quest to find a shoe that was best in health and design for her son’s feet. She was looking for fun, sophisticated styles that also promoted healthy foot development; but she didn’t find any, so she created See Kai Run. Today, a dedicated team of footwear makers and designers carry on this mission. Our experience and footwear knowledge ensures that every style we produce is fun, fashionable and features the finest in materials and craftsmanship.”
Here is something that a lot of people may not know about me. I have big and wide feet. However, I have never had a problem with See Kai Run’s shoes fitting me perfectly. Not only are they great for my wide feet and fit comfortably, but they are also easy for me to take on and off all by myself. I love my independence and the only question I now ask is “do I have them on the right feet?”. With easy adjustable velcro straps or zippers in the case of their boots, there are never any laces to tie.
They realize that we are little kids and that our feet are growing, so you’ll never find shoes with high heels which mommy thinks are inappropriate for little kids, or shoes with pointed toes. Their shoes are padded for added comfort and they all come with a removable footbed so that our little feet can stay fresh. We all know that after a day of play that our feet can sweat and there’s nothing worse than putting on a pair of stinky shoes. And when I say play, I mean the rough and tumble, playing on the playground, climbing the jungle gym kind of play. With a flexible rubber sole that moves with your little one, it’s easy to see how See Kai Run is made to go from the classroom to the playground with ease. No pinched toes or slipping or sliding here!
Now there is one major reason I love See Kai Run besides the ones above. Mommy and I love featuring companies that give back here on Growing Up Madison. We also tend to shop at those companies a lot more than we do at others that don’t. You may also know that I have a brother with a disability. He’s autistic, but many of you may have family members or friends that have disabilities as well. See Kai Run has been supporting Peach’s Neat Feet campaign of providing customized shoes to children living with disabilities and fighting serious illnesses, by donating shoes. After all every kid deserves to smile.
I couldn’t be happier with the new Spring collection from See Kai Run. Not only are they beautiful to look at and reminds me of spring flowers, but they are super comfortable, easy to take on and off and are perfect for school and play. I have a trip planned for London, England and you can bet that you will see me wearing these. After all I think Prince George and Princess Charlotte should be wearing a pair of See Kai Run. They are available for both boys and girls from size Newborn 0 – Big Kids 3Y. And don’t worry, finding your size is super easy since they’ve included a sizing guide on their website which you can print out. Does See Kai Run get my TWO TINY THUMBS UP? You bet it does!
