Mommy remembers when I first started learning to eat. She said it was always an adventure. Most of the food I ate ended up on the floor, on my face with some of it going into my mouth. We tried lots of different spoons. Expensive ones, not so expensive ones until mommy just gave up. Mommy wished she had heard of Spuni back then. When Spuni contacted mommy so that she can share this amazing spoon with the world, mommy said yes! Now you may be wondering, “what makes Spuni different from the other baby spoons on the market?” We received a set of Spuni spoons and I can say that there is certainly a big difference which we will tell you all about.

Spuni comes in sets of two’s with very cute names. We received the Giggly Green and Peekaboo Purple but you can also get: Bouncing Blue and Oops Orange, Bubbly Blue and Lucky Lemon, Neon and Playful Pink.

Spuni is the first latching spoon for infants. Spuni’s unique “tulip” profile is designed to promote the latching instinct that baby develops during breast and bottle feeding. This ingenious design allows a baby to suck and swallow food off the spoon creating less waste, while improving feeding sessions for both baby and parent.

$18 – Recommended age: 6m+

Spuni was designed by two MIT friends who “engineered” a design to improve the feeding experience for infants and their caregivers through their transition from fluids to solids. Most babies start eating solids from around age 6 months and Spuni was designed to help with that.

Now one of the things that mommy liked about Spuni was the length of the handle. Most first spoons usually have a short handle which is great for us toddlers. The long handle of Spuni makes it easier for mommies and daddies to get the food into baby’s mouth. Babies usually have a habit of grabbing on to the spoon while you are feeding them, with a longer handle this is perfect.

Now if you notice, Spuni tip is designed a lot different from the ordinary spoon as well. The unique “tulip” tip also makes it a lot easier for babies whose instinct is to latch, it makes it easier for them to suck on the spoon. Now more of baby’s food would end up in his tummy instead of everywhere else. Making it great for parents because now you would have less of a mess to clean up as well. The tip is also soft so it is gentle on baby’s sensitive gums.

Now Spuni is dishwasher safe and is BPA, BPS, Phthalates and PVC Free. It is non-toxic and also Hypoallergenic. I really love the design of Spuni and although this is great for babies it doesn’t hold enough for me being a toddler. It is the perfect spoon for babies. Now if only they would make a bigger one for toddlers. *hint*

I truly recommend Spuni for babies making it their very first spoon. Spuni gets my Two Tiny Thumbs Up!
