You can spend hours in front of the mirror trying to get the perfect makeup look, trying different techniques and beauty trends that just do not work out for you. Here are a few quick tips on how you can streamline your morning routine, prolong the life of your makeup or achieve the perfect winged eyeliner.
- Get the perfect eyeshadow for your hooded lid.
If you have hooded or semi hooded eyes try this hack to gift you the illusion of lifted eyes. Place a handkerchief across your face going from the outer corner of your nose to your eyebrow. Apply eyeshadow from the center of your eye outwards toward the handkerchief. Take a look at the tutorial below.
- Check your makeup under different light.
Before you go anywhere move between different lighting and check how your makeup looks, in brighter lights you will easily be able to see any bits you have missed.
- Make full use of your liquid products.
Do not throw away your makeup tubes; cut them open or use a small spatula you scoop out any product that is left over. This will save you money and prevent anything from going to waste.
- Achieve the perfect cat eye with a spoon.
To get the perfect winged liner, you only need one common household item: a spoon. Start your eyeliner as you would for a cat-eye, then press the rounded side of the spoon against your eyelid and move it outwards to create a wing. Check out the tutorial below.
- Reuse mascara brushes.
If you have a mascara wand that you really love and do not want to part with it once it runs out – thoroughly clean off the brush so you can use it for other types of mascara.
- Get a long-lasting lip color.
Put your lipstick of choice on, then lay a tissue across your lips. Dust some translucent powder over the top to make the color set so it stays on longer!
- Prevent mascara transfer.
This is another way you can make use of that spoon! Hold the rounded part against your upper eyelid whilst applying your mascara to stop the excess from getting all over your eyes.
- Apply your dry shampoo at night.
As you move around in your sleep the dry shampoo will really get worked into your hair and you will wake up with more volume and bounce. This will also save you some time in the morning.
- Make your eyes look wider.
When applying your mascara sweep it towards your nose instead of upwards, this will help make your lashes look longer and fuller thus making your eyes look bigger.
- White eyeliner.
Using white eyeliner along your bottom lid can help create the illusion of bigger, wider eyes. You can also use it as a base before you apply your eyeshadow to help intensify the color and really make it pop.
- Get the perfect cupids bow.
Use a lip liner to draw an “X” on your upper lip. Apply your lipstick using the “X” as a guide to create the perfect cupids bow lips.
