Make a Masterpiece with Printcopia – Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer: I received products  for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

I tend to think that I have a beautifully decorated room. Sure it’s filled with lots of owls and color but one thing that mommy think it has been missing is  a little personal touch. A photo of me! While I have countless photos of me, taken from the day of my birth, I don’t have a single personalized photo that is actually hung in my room. When the folks at Printcopia contacted mommy about doing a review of their canvas prints, mommy gladly said “yes”. There have been lots of canvas print reviews and mommy have read quite a lot of them. Mommy even contemplated ordering one when the offer came. Now here I was able to have something that makes my room unique and totally mine!

Now before I go into my review of my canvas let me tell you a bit about Printcopia.

At Printcopia, you can turn your photos into eye-catching wall art with a variety of printing materials and options to choose from including gallery-quality canvas, sleek acrylic, and glorious panoramic printing.

Now let us go into the ordering process which was so simple. You get to choose the size of the print you want, starting from a size 8″ x 8″ to a whopping 18″ x 24″. You can also choose the thickness that you want. Mommy decided to get the 11″ x 14″ which she thought would be the perfect size for my room. And she was right!

Once you have your size you are then able to upload your photo. One of the great thing about Printcopia that mommy loved was the fact that you can not upload photos in PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP and TIF files. Another great fact was that you can also import your Facebook or Instagram photos. A lot of us have unique photos that are only on those two social media so being able to print them is such a plus! Once your photo is uploaded it tells you the quality of your photo, whether it will be poor, fair or good. You surely want a good quality photo. The better it is the better your canvas would look.

You then get to choose the style you would like which includes border and display options. A few of these features may cost an additional fee while some are standard. The process simply guides through each step so you really can’t go wrong.

Now once we had done that it was simple as checking out and waiting for our delivery to show up. Mommy chose the economy rate shipping which took about a week to arrive. We were really surprised that it was that fast. There are faster shipping options but economy worked out great for us.

Now on to the actual canvas review.

You may recognize that photo as one that I’ve used in the past and also the one in my media kit. The print was very true to what I had on the computer and even without retouching. The canvas is made with a cotton based material and had a semi-gloss finish. The material is actually archival quality and should be able to last for quite a number of years, decades evenly.

Now I want to show you the back of my canvas as well. It was very well stapled together and since it was ordered to hang, the hanging hook was already secured. As you can see from my pictures the edges were well done.

Was there anything that I didn’t particularly like about my canvas? Well actually there was. My Printcopia canvas did not have a backing which made it seem almost unfinished in a way. If you plan on hanging it on the wall like mommy did then it might not be an issue. If you plan on standing it on a table for example it may not look as great since light will shine through a lot easier.

Overall besides the lack of backing my Printcopia canvas was a hit! They make the perfect gifts for grandparents and even for yourself. If you’ve never owned a canvas before I would recommend giving Printcopia a try. They get my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!
