Easter is quickly approaching. I can’t believe in just a few weeks I’ll be going egg hunting with my Easter basket. I started celebrating Easter after my first birthday. Having been born in the month of January, I was a bit too young to celebrate Easter with my family the very first year. After I turned a year old, I was lucky enough to celebrate that year with my family. Now I think I may have mentioned that I don’t watch a lot of television. When I do however get to watch, my favorite channel of choice is Disney Junior and my favorite show by far is Sophia the First. Now you may be wondering where I’m going with all of this and I’ll get to it eventually. First I want to share with you some of the Easter traditions that we celebrate at our home. Easter means a lot to us and not just religiously. Mommy grew up in a home where she went to church every week. While we don’t go to church on a weekly basis here, we do however go on most major religious “holiday” as we like to call them and Easter just happens to be one of them.
We follow the Lenten season where we refrain from eating meat and only eat fish. However on Easter Sunday we have a fabulous meal but not before hunting for eggs around the house. Yes mommy buys those plastic eggs and stuff them with candy. It’s also one of the few times we get to pig out on candy. Mommy isn’t a fan of candy and soda so we very rarely get those, so Easter can never come soon enough for us to relish every piece of candy that we get. Mommy is really good at hiding those eggs and we really have to search around the house until we find most of them. What we don’t find, mommy collects, and they’re gone until the next holiday.
Now you may be wondering, when am I going to get back to Disney Junior and Sophia the First. Don’t worry, I’ve got you! I’m actually getting to that right now. Now if you have a little girl or boy in your home you may have most likely seen Sophia the First on your TV. If they’re fanatics like me then you may have even been coerced into buying a few Sophia the First memorabilia. Yes I sucker mommy into buying them every time we go into a store.
Just this past week mommy and I happened to be at Walmart and noticed their extensive Disney Junior Easter collection. Yes there was an entire aisle dedicated just for them. Not only was Mickey and Minnie there from the Mickey Mouse ClubHouse, but there was also Doc McStuffin. While those are also two of my favorites, I’m telling you no-one and I mean no-one beats Sophia. There was so much Sophia that I was starting to have a “Sophia Rush” which mommy thinks is worse than a sugar rush. So for all the Sophia the First fans I was able to put together my Sophia the First Easter Basket. If you’re wondering what I was able to pack in there, don’t worry, I’m about to show you.
Yes all these amazing Sophia The First goodies I was able to pick up at my local Walmart, from toys, Easter activities, eggs and even cosmetics (yes I got the cutest ever lip balm), and don’t forget my Easter basket. All reasonably priced too and they are sure to bring a smile to your own Sophia fan’s face. I know I was grinning from ear to ear when mommy decided to get them all for me.
Now I can’t wait for Easter to get here. I absolutely know which I’m going to open first. Well here’s a little secret between me and you. Mommy told me I could open just one thing and I opened the playset so I can could play and I am loving it so far. So if you’re looking to celebrate a Disney Junior Easter with your little one, head on over to Walmart. I guarantee that they’ll satisfy your Disney Junior sweet tooth like they did mine.
So tell me, who’s your favorite Disney Junior character?
