Mommy and I were recently contacted by Poppy Rose, an exclusive Scandinavian Children’s brand. Their collection range is for children of ages 0-14 years and is of high quality materials such as cotton, merino wool and prints of renowned Liberty of London. I had to admit that mommy and I were a bit skeptical when we got the email. We took a look at the site and thought why me? Well mommy thought why me? I thought, yeah they know that I’m a fashionable toddler and they want me. Yay me!!
There is one thing I have to admit to you my readers. Mommy likes that I’m different. She loves dressing me differently. She says its the New Yorker in her but she doesn’t like me looking like everyone else. We do shop a lot at exclusive kid retailers but every once in a while mommy decides that I need a little bit of designer wear. Nothing wrong with that right? Mommy took a look at the Poppy Rose clothing and said oh those are so cute and you’ll be the only one wearing it.
Now before I go into my review I have to tell you that Poppy Rose isn’t currently based in the US. There are plans to have their clothing sold here in the spring of 2014 in exclusive stores. Their clothes are currently available online. One great thing about their site is that I was able to translate it into English so I had no problem reading what was listed. They thought of everything. Well almost everything. There was one thing that wasn’t there. A size comparison chart. Since the sizes are listed in European sizes mommy and I based in on our American size which is a 2T so we chose 2Y.
We received the Poppy Rose Andrea – Golden Mitsi Valeria dress to review. I have to tell you that shipping was really fast to us. We got our dress in a little over a week so you may want to time your order with whatever you have planned. That wasn’t bad for an overseas delivery. Pretty great if you ask me!
When my Poppy Rose Dress arrived it was exactly as pictured. Usually photos show you a color and you’re disappointed because it doesn’t look the same. There was no disappointment with my Poppy Rose Dress. My dress was made of cotton and wool blend and when you think of wool you think of itchiness. No, not this dress. It was soft to touch! The attention to detail in the making of this dress was great. Even the little button at the back of the dress was well done. Do you know those buttons that you need to refasten on your own because the button wasn’t done properly? Not with this dress!
Now because Poppy Rose is a European company you may want to pay attention to the sizing. My dress came in size 2Y which to mommy and me means 2T, which is what I generally wear. In European size it’s a little bigger than a 2T but not much. That means that I’ll have my dress for the spring. My sister thinks it has an antique and preppy look to it and she loved it. That’s a real compliment coming from my big sister.
