July 2013 Bluum Toddler Box Review

It’s that time once again to review another Bluum Box. Guess what?! It’s my 18 month birthday today and I got the 18 month box. This one was a little slow in the delivery which is why our review is up a little bit later than it was last month. If you don’t remember what last month’s box look like, take a quick look here.

Bluum is a monthly subscription service for babies ages newborn to 3 years of age and costs $24.95 a month.

Last month was all about Fine Dining and the theme for this month was Lil Artiste  and we were super excited to see what that included. I think I’m a lil artiste already. So far my work of art has included drawing on the walls of my house and on anything that I can draw on. I think they’re beautiful but mommy doesn’t really think so all the time.

My card read this month:

Month 18: Coloring

Your baby is scribbling away. An artist is born! Your baby is developing the hand skills necessary for grasping writing tools, like crayons and markers (washable, please!) By scribbling, your baby explores what they can do with these tools and paper, and tries to imitate what they see older children and parents do.

Stimulating children’s minds through fun and engaging activities is the first step in unlocking their creative potential.

Creativity is contagious. Pass it on. ~ Albert Einstein

Now to move along to what came in my box.

Alex Jr. Tots First Crayons- $5.95

These state for children ages 18m+ and guess what? I like the chunkiness of the crayons. They’re not skinny like ordinary crayons so my little hands should be able to grip them very easily. It comes with six very beautiful colors that I’m sure I can make a masterpiece with. I’ve never used Alex Toys before and I’m super excited to try them out!

Alex Toys My Scribble Pad – $1.95

We also got another Alex Toys but this time the scribble pad and this goes hand in had with my crayons. This is for ages 3yrs+ but since it’s only paper younger ones can use it as well. There are 30 sheets. Although I thought the Alex Toys My First Scribbler would have been more appropriate for me I guess this isn’t bad and it’s a great alternative to walls.

Dapple Toy and Surface Wipes – $3.49

This is the travel pack so it can be tossed easily into my diaper bag.  There are only 20 wipes in this travel pack so I don’t expect it to last a very long time. It stated that it was natural with baby safe ingredients so mommy took a look at the back. It says its “free of chlorine, parabens, phthalates, SLES, and dyes” otherwise known as the yucky stuff. I’ve never used these before so it will be fun trying them out.

Sneakz Organic Chocolate Milkshake – $4.50

We got 2 of these and although I’m not a huge fan of chocolate drinks I might be willing to try this. According to the Sneakz Organic company this is a full serving of veggies in every box. These are the ingredients. Organic Skim Milk, Filtered Water, Sneaks Organic Veggie Blend (Organic Dried Sweet Potato, Organic Dried Carrot, Organic Dried Broccoli), Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Dutch Cocoa, Organic Vanilla Extract, Carrageenan, Natural Flavors. No GMO’s, No Antibiotics, No Synthetic Hormones. Sounds good to me, now all I have to do is try it and see if I like it.

Udderly Smooth Udder Cream 2oz – $4.00

Mommy has used this before in the big jar so she was pleased to get this in a small travel size. Yes it does say udderly as in cows. It was originally made for cows but can be used on everyone including little ones such as me. This is a water based moisturizer and it has a very mild fresh scent. Nothing too strong but it doesn’t last too long so you’re going to want to keep this in your diaper to keep on moisturizing throughout the day.

Baby Ecos Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent 4oz – $0.50

This was a sample 4oz size so I would only expect to get at least 2 loads of laundry with this, because it is hypoallergenic I don’t expect to have an allergic reaction but one never knows. Mommy will try this over the weekend and see what happens.

Little Rabbit Wait for the Moon – $7.19

Have I told you how much I love books? I just love to read so the more books I get the better for me. I was pleasantly surprised to get a board book and will be reading this tonight. It seems like a very good bedtime story and the illustrations are also lovely. Mommy and I will sure have a fun time with this one.

ok lets try this drink! Do I like it? I don’t think so!

Total of our June Bluum Box was $27.58 which is a little disappointing. We did enjoy getting our book and our crayons but would have preferred to have gotten something else besides that chocolate milk and the scribble pad.

Next month’s box is going to be Lets Make Friends and I hope its better than this one.
