For this trip, I wanted to visit the rainforest, but I wasn’t sure how to make it happen. Were we going to have to rent a car to get there, or was public transportation an option? Prefer something a little more thrilling? Try the Tapirus Lodge’s Canopy Tour, a zipline adventure that’ll send you soaring among the treetops, or sign up for the Aerial Tram tour. This tour gives you the chance to ride in Costa Rica’s only aerial cable car. Unlike the fast-paced zipline, a slow and easy ride in a cable car will give you the chance to actually appreciate the beauty of the canopy – which is where many of the rainforest’s creatures reside.
And whether or not you like birdwatching, most visitors will have a blast on the Bird Watching tour. Accompanied by a guide and equipped with a list of birds, you’ll get to glimpse some of Costa Rica’s 450+ native bird species in their natural environments.
