Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day but I’m going to be honest with you. Sometimes it’s almost non-existent in our household. Being an active duty soldier I’m sometimes out the door by 0400, depending on what’s happening that day with my military unit. My son Kyle is out the door by 0630 because he has to be at the bus stop for his bus by 0645. Madison if she’s going to daycare is usually out the door by the same time. That means that there is literally no time to have an actual breakfast. It’s usually what we can grab on the go. I was very excited when one of our favorite cereal, Honey Bunches of Oats, decided to introduce their new Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits. This has literally made breakfast very easy for us. We call it the cereal that’s not in a bowl.
Now the Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast comes in three different flavors as of now and I’m not sure if there’ll be more. It would be great to have a few more. As of now there is the original Honey Roasted that we all know and love, Strawberry and Chocolate Chip. Each box comes with 5 individual pouches and in each pouch comes 4 very delicious breakfast biscuits.
Now you may be wondering about the nutritional value of these breakfast biscuits, and here is what I have to tell you. They are all made with 100% whole grain. Each pouch is a serving size and only has 230 calories and 4g of Fiber per serving. There is also 5g of Protein for serving and all know that we need that for energy. With 30g of Whole Grain per serving, that’s more than 55% of your day’s whole grain.
Now why we LOVE these is simple. With the individual pouches it’s easy for us to grab and go. While the kids have some time, it’s a lot simpler to grab a glass of milk and wash it down before heading out the door. They can even take it with them to eat on the bus.
Kyle is very picky when it comes to new foods and is very reluctant to try them. He took a nibble when asked to try them at first then the next thing I knew he was gobbling them down. According to Kyle they were “really good”. He loved the original flavor of the Honey Roasted Breakfast Biscuits while Madison loved the Strawberry. Mikael is the chocolate lover in the house and was more than happy to have the Chocolate Chip version.
I have to admit that even I loved them and have taken a package (or two) with me when heading out the door to work. I have even eaten them for lunch. Yes just because it says Breakfast Biscuits doesn’t mean that they’re only for breakfast. They’re perfect for lunch and snacking too. We already have them on our shopping list to pick up the next time we head to the commissary.
So if you’re always rushing out the door and have no time for breakfast, be sure to pick up a few boxes of these Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits in your choice of flavor. I guarantee you’ll love them! If you’re not sure if they’re in your area you can check out the Where to Buy? on their website.
