A baby shower is a joyous occasion for everyone involved. The expectant mother gets to look forward to being a parent, while guests get to share in this joy. As a guest, it can sometimes be hard to know what to get for the new mom. Even if she has registered for gifts, it can be hard to narrow down your choices to something she’ll really need. If you’re having a hard time deciding what to buy, here are a few essential baby shower gifts every expectant mother needs.
Diapers and Wipes
If you have children, you know how many diapers babies can go through, which is why this is a wonderful gift for soon-to-be mothers! If you’re headed to a baby shower and don’t know what to get, a box of diapers is sure to be appreciated. If you can, try to buy different sizes of diapers. Many people tend to buy only newborn, but sizes 1-2 will be needed pretty quickly. Also along with those diapers you are going to need wipes. As they go hand in hand they make the perfect gift.
Diaper Bag
Remember that baby will not always be a baby so when shopping for a diaper bag look for one that can stand the test of time. One that you can use all the way through toddlerhood and beyond. A diaper bag can store some of those wipes and diapers that the new mom will be getting and is essential for those first baby visits to the doctor where you may need a change of clothing and extra bottle feeding.
Baby Sling
A great gift all moms-to-be should have is a baby sling or carrier. Babies love to be held and mothers love to get some cuddle time in. It’s a win-win situation! Although there’s nothing like sitting in a rocking chair snuggling that precious newborn, it doesn’t really allow for mommy to get anything done around the house. A baby sling gives mom the ability to hold that baby close while still being able to get things done.
Swaddle Blankets
While they are great for swaddling they are also great for those burping sessions where your little one has mastered the art of spit up. And one of them may eventually become that blanket that your little one can’t live without.
The Soothe TIME Fresh Air Crib Liner
One gift that most people don’t consider is a crib liner. The Soothe TIME Fresh Air Crib Liner by Just Born not only protects your mattress but makes changing your baby’s sheets a breeze. This Crib Liner also eliminates the need for a crib bumper which is no longer recommended since there have been reports of baby’s arms and legs getting caught between them. The liner also has breathable mesh sides which helps keeps baby’s arms and legs inside the crib while providing air flow for a healthier sleep. Now moms and dads will have less to worry about and be able to spend more time bonding with their little one.
The Fresh Air Crib Liner is now available at Target and you can receive a $5.00 rebatewhile rebates last. They are also available in quite a few designs and prints. There will sure be one that matches your decor.
Also, don’t forget to spoil mom before she brings home that bundle of joy. After the baby is born, it could be awhile before she can get out to pamper herself. You can help give her a little “me” time by buying her a spa day or pedicure/manicure package. She’s sure to enjoy this special gift.
