Easy Fall Decor with the Cricut Explore Air 2 ~ #CricutCreated

I love decorating my home for fall. Fall is by far my favorite season, thanks to the cooler weather, everything pumpkin, and the fantastic fall colors. Thanks to my new Cricut Explore Air 2, I can now create my own decor without having to go out and purchase.

Owning a Cricut machine has always been a dream of mine, and that happened for me a few years ago. I purchased the Cricut Explore Air and used it religiously. However, about a year ago, one of the kids accidentally broke it, and I promised myself that I’d get another. Well, once again, that has happened, and I’m here once again to share my love of using my new Cricut machine along with you.

If you’re a fan of arts and crafts, or if you’d much prefer to create your own projects instead of buying them, then a Cricut is or you. I currently own the Cricut Explore Air 2, and while they may look the same, except for the color, there is just one significant difference. The Cricut Explore Air 2 is much faster; however, both are Bluetooth enabled so you’re able to connect to your computer or iPad without being plugged in.

The Cricut Explore Air 2 makes it easy to create simple and even complex projects. Set up is simple and it guides you through from start to finish making the process very straightforward, even if you’ve never used a Cricut machine before. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll be creating projects in no time.

The Cricut Explore Air 2 can cut over 100 materials, from vinyl, cardstock, and iron-ons, glittered paper and so much more, so you can quickly and beautifully create cards, home decor, and even t-shirts. All you need is a vision and with your Cricut, you can make it a reality. And with Cricut Design Space® software available for iOS, Android™, Windows®, and Mac®, it’s easy to browse thousands of images, fonts and be ready to make projects, or be adventurous and design your own.

For this easy fall decor project, I used Design Space to search for a ready-to-make project, but made it my very own. Here’s what you’re going to need to make this for your very own.

Supplies Needed

Cricut Explore Air 2

Vinyl: Black, Yellow & Red

Cricut Transfer Paper

9×9 Shadow Box

Fall Leaves

Directions:

Step 1. Select an image in Design Space and size it to fit your shadow box. There are many fall images that you can choose from; the choice is yours.

Step 2. Once you’ve cut your design, weed your image with the weeding tool, or if you’re like me and don’t have one, you can use a regular threading needle.

Step 3. Place the transfer tape over the weeded design and place it on the glass of your shadowbox where you want it to be. For best results use a scraper or credit card so that it lays perfectly. I wanted my words y’all to be slanted, as I also had some leaves that I designed to be placed on the glass as well.

Step 4. Add your leaves to the inside of your shadow box, and voila! You’re done.

It’s really that simple and took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish and it looks just like something that you’d pick up at a home decor store but costs so much less. The good thing about designing your own project is that if you aren’t happy with it, you can simply do it all over again. With the Circut Explore Air 2, you can create unique designs, and once again, you’re only limited by your imagination.
