Citrus Lane – 33 Month Old Box – October 2014

It’s that time of the month for Citrus Lane again! I have really been procrastinating when it comes to sharing my boxes with one. Once again I’ve had this box for quite a few days but with mommy’s schedule we just haven’t had the time to share it with you. I didn’t forget and I know my readers just love knowing what we got in our box.  For those who are new to my blog and you’re wondering what Citrus Lane is, it’s a monthly subscription box for newborns to age 5. Every month a specially curated box is sent to you catered to your little one’s age, and it’s all a surprise what you’ll receive. There are currently 3 subscription levels and subscriptions are cheaper the longer you subscribe. Subscriptions starts at $29/month. If you are interested in seeing what I got in last month’s box, you can take a look at my 32 Month Old Box or you can take a look at all my other Citrus Lane Reviews.

You may have noticed that this month’s Citrus Lane box is pink instead of the usual yellow that is normally sent. That’s because this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It also comes with the punch out Bowstache that was sent last year as well. The inside of the Box Read:

  • LITTLE HEALTH RAISERS UNITE! As parents, we spend most of our time looking out for our children. This month, it’s their turn to look out for us! The BOWSTACHE is back for the second year! It’s pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and mustachioed to support Men’s Health Awareness Month in November.  Let’s all raise health awareness and throw our support for healthy mommies and daddies everywhere! Choose your favorite bowstache and have fun with the whole family. Post your picture on http://www.facebook.com/CitrusLaneKids and you’ll be entered to win a fabulous prize!

Now of course we also get a “hello card” that is included every month with a short description of our items that we will be receiving as well. This was what my Hello card read this month:

Hello from Citrus Lane! We love new toys we’ve discovered for you this month – wooden figures to stimulate budding imaginations, something for musical play, and a stylish accessory to help keep your little legs warm and snuggly. We know that as days grow colder, you’re probably going to be spending more time inside, so wanted to share with you some fun things to help keep your little one entertained.

This month I already knew what one of the items I was getting was. Citrus Lane decided to try something new this month and asked you to choose the design of the accessory so this wasn’t a surprise. You had the choice to choose or be surprised and mommy decided we were going to choose. So without further ado let’s check out what came inside my 33 month old box.

Taxi Story City Set from Janod – $9.99

Little ones will enjoy creating pretend cities and stories out of this super-cute taxi and scooter figurine set. Encourage young imaginations by playing “city” with these beautiful wooden toys from Janod. We also like that they’re compatible with standard train track sets. Collect more for even more fun. Janod.com

I wasn’t too excited to receive this. While I love toys I prefer bigger toys and although I love cars this didn’t really pique my attention one bit. I think that I’ll try and play with them in a few days after I’m tired of my other toys.

Pink Car Story City Set from Janod – $9.99

We like Janod’s bright colors and modern European design. Made exclusively for Citrus Lane, this super cute set is fun on its own, or paired with the Taxi set to create a busy city scene. Pretend to “run errands” like going to the grocery or to the mall to encourage the development of imaginative play. Janod.com

This was just a pink version of the very first one and while it’s ok I would have preferred to get something else. I wasn’t too interested in these but maybe after a few days I’ll check them out.

Maracitos from Hohner Kids – $9.00

Exploration through music is great for cognitive and physical development. A Citrus Lane favorite, these fun maracitos are smaller and easier to hold and play than traditional maracas but just as fun. They sound great and are very durable – perfect for when your little one is banging them on the playroom floor! www.hohnerkids.com

I couldn’t wait to start playing these Maracitos. This was the very first thing that I took out of the box. I’ve never had a pair of these before and the I just loved shaking them. They are perfect for toddlers and it sure makes me want to dance when playing them.

Leg Warmers from Ooh La Leggings – $10.00

The perfect seasonal accessory for baby girls. We love these leg warmers for their adorable prints and triple ruffles. Especially cute for little crawlers and walkers who may slip in tights. One size fits most – from 6 months to 6 years and beyond. Who can resist the winter cuteness? Use code CITRUS30 for 3o% off at oohlaleggies.com thru 12/15/2014.

I already knew that I was going to get this in my box. This month Citrus Lane gave me the option of choosing my very own accessory and there was a choice of 3-4 of these leg warmers. This was by far the prettiest of the bunch in my opinion. I just love the cupcake designs and the bright colors. I don’t wear leg warmers too often but with the cold weather coming I will be wearing this one.

The value for this box was $38.98 which was a pretty good value but I was still somewhat disappointed. The toys while they were nice wasn’t something that I was really interested in. I think they were more for little babies than myself. I’m almost 3 and these were for ages 18m+, and while that is my age range I would have preferred something else. Just don’t ask me what because I’m still unsure. I did love them though and I’m sure I’ll have lots of play time with them, especially the Maracitos.

If you’re interested in getting your very own subscription you can use my invitation and get 50% off your first box. $15 is actually a great price for trial subscription and I’m sure you’ll decide you love them as much as I do. So what are you waiting for? Give Citrus Lane a try today!
