It’s Citrus Lane time! I have had this box for a few days and have been contemplating whether or not to share it with you. I’m usually excited when my box arrives and I do love showing my surprises each month. If you are interested in seeing what I got my last box, you can take a look at my 30 Month Old Box. My regular readers know by now what Citrus Lane is all about, but if you’re new to my blog let me tell you a bit about Cirtus Lane. It is a monthly curated subscription for newborns up to age 5. Each month a box is sent to you with at least 5 items that is tailored to your child’s age. There are three subscription levels and the longer you subscribe the cheaper it becomes. Subscription starts at $29/monthly and it’s actually a lot of fun receiving a box of goodies each and every month. So without further ado let me show you what we got in my 31 month old box.
Once again Citrus Lane sends you a “Hello Card” on the inside of your box describing each item you receive. This was mine:
Hello from Citrus Lane: We’ve chosen a little something for everyone this month. A beautiful learning toy from Petit Collage, a custom set from Green Toys to encourage pretend play, something to soothe the inevitable bumps and bruises, and a couple of extras for your little one to enjoy. We hope that over the next few months, they become some of your favorite things.
Ok so judging from that description it sounds like there was quite a few things this month, especially when it said a couple of extras. Well here is a picture and judge for yourself.
So from what was stated I already knew that I had 3 items that I’m going to share with you first. Then I’ll go into the “extras” that Citrus Lane mentioned that were for me to enjoy.
Alphabet Flash Cards from Petit Collage – $19.00
Exclusive to Citrus Lane, this beautiful set of Alphabet Flash Cards is a great way to play and learn at the same time. Use them to help reinforce vocabulary and learn letters, and later they will become a great way to teach early readers. Marked 3+ because the cards may break apart if toddlers teeth on them. I can’t wait to try this out. My language skills have really blossomed over the past couple of months. Those who are familiar with me and my blog may know that I was currently receiving speech therapy because I was delayed. What’s funny is that my therapist could no longer work for me and I needed a replacement. Very shortly after she left I just started talking on my own. Guess sometimes things just happen when they’re supposed to happen. This will surely enhance my vocabulary skills and I’m really excited about this. So is mommy!
Tea for Two from Green Toys – $8.00 (estimate for 2 set)
Green Toys manufactured this set just for Citrus Lane! Encourage your child to have a pretend party with his stuffed animals with this adorable set. Made from eco-friendly materials, it’s actually food safe and dishwasher safe so can be used with real food and tea. Great for developing young imaginations through play. Use code CL10SPECIAL for 10% off at shop.greentoys.com thru 9/30/2014.
I have about a gazillion tea sets, even a very expensive porcelain one that is a collectible that mommy refuses to let me touch. Why buy a toy if I can’t use it? I so don’t see the logic in that. Well according to mommy I’ll be able to play with it when I’m older and learn to take care of my toys properly. This she said is perfect because it’s made of plastic and I can toss it wherever I want to. I have a few other Green Toys items and they are so well made and this is no exception. It was tea time for me and Beary my very first bear.
Reusable Cool it Buddy from Me4Kidz – $3.99
It’s amazing how many bumps and bruises little ones get, and how an ice pack seems to magically make owies all better. This soft, reusable ice pack is non-toxic and BPA-free and has a cute animal design. We also like that Me4Kidz is a family business that helps to support those with disabilities. Use code CL314 for 25% off all products at me4kidz.com thru 9/30/2014.
I am always having owies. If you notice on my knees I currently have two. While mommy usually kisses it and makes it better which usually works this is a great alternative. Loving the fact that it is reusable as well so I can use it over and over again, because I’m going to have a lot of owies I’m sure over and over again.
Language Video Digital Download from Little Pim – $11.00 (estimate for 1 download)
Studies show that introducing a second language at an early age is great for children’s development. Little Pim’s award winning program is adorable and fun for little ones. Choose from over 11 languages – just go to littlepim.com/citruslane and use the code on the enclosed card to download a video for free. littlepim.com/citruslane
I have been using Little Pim since I was an infant. Mommy who loves the French language got me the French DVD and I actually do know a few of the words and sentences. During the Christmas holiday I was sent the Italian by Little Pim and while I haven’t focused much on the Italian this is another great way for me to learn a 4th language. English being my first naturally.
So I assume that was the “extras” since there was nothing else included in the box. The total for my Citrus Lane box including my estimated prices was $41.99. While this Citrus Lane box was a big improvement over last months, I do like receiving books over snacks and there was none of either this month. I did love the flashcards and by now you may have all realized what my favorite was. It sure was that tea set from Green Toys. While this box wasn’t a “hit” it was not too bad of a box.
If you’re interested in getting your very own subscription you can use my invitation and get 50% off your first box. A starter box for $15 is not a bad price and you get to decide whether you want to keep your subscription or not.
