Chinese New Year – Year of the Horse Celebrations #AlmostWordlessWednesday

I had the most amazing
time this weekend with my mom and siblings and I wanted to share it with you.
As you may have noticed our Almost Wordless Wednesday is back. This is where I
usually highlight what happened during the week or over the weekend in picture
format. I originally had my part 2 of my road trip to share with you but
decided that this was even more awesome!

This past Saturday our Asian Pacific Market decided to have their
Chinese New Year celebrations a bit early. If you’re unaware, the start of the
Chinese New Year is actually January 31, 2014 but this was an early
celebration. I am so happy that they did because I was able to enjoy my first
Chinese New Year celebration. It was fun seeing all the performances and
activities and I am so excited to share it all with you. So without further
ado, here is a look at what I was able to see in photo format along with a few
videos as well. Enjoy!

There was a LOT of people there but mommy was able to lift me up
to see most of it. When the crowd parted I was able to squeeze my way through
being the small person I am and see even more.

First up was the amazing dragon dance.

I was totally amazed!
All I could do was stare at what I was seeing, I couldn’t tear my eyes away.
The costumes were amazing, all the colors and the performance.

Now this next performance was what really caught
my attention. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Was it really a dragon?
Well it wasn’t. It was actually 2 performers doing the routine and they did a
splendid job. I know that I wouldn’t have been able to do
this, no matter how much of a daredevil I am. I did tell you that I was going
to show you lots of photos, but I promise I won’t over do it.

Now there are two
dragons, one gold and one silver. I just had to put this photo of the gold
dragon in there. Sure the dragon is beautiful but wanna know why I decided to
highlight this one? Check out the background. That is a photo of our beautiful
Colorado mountaintop. Colorado makes the perfect backdrop for photos don’t you
think?

After the amazing
performances mommy decided that we should all go and get something to eat. We
ended up going to Golden Coral where I ended up getting some delicious
ice-cream. Then it was off to do some shopping at TJ Maxx. I thought that was a
fitting end to a great day, don’t you think?

Have you ever been to a Chinese New Year celebration? What was
your experience like?
