How many parents usually just plop their children down in the shopping cart after just wiping it down with one of those wipes provided at the shopping cart station or from one out of their diaper bag. I admit mommy was one of those mothers who did that and I even have pictures to prove it.
This was all before mommy knew better |
A friend of my mom’s recently sent her an article written by Children’s Health on NBC News after seeing a picture of me going grocery shopping and sitting in the commissary’s shopping cart. Boy was mommy shocked, and so was I when we read it. According to the article E. coli was found on 50% of shopping carts. That’s 1/2 I tell you and how was mommy to know which 1/2 was not contaminated. Well granted to say mommy decided that it was no more shopping carts for me or if I was to sit in a shopping cart then we needed an intervention.
That’s where google came in. Don’t you just love google? A google search and mommy was looking at shopping cart covers and the one mommy saw and loved was from the Balboa Baby company. Mommy contacted them and explained to them what she wanted and why and they very kindly said “sure we’ll send you one”. What a relief! Until then I walked until my shopping cart cover arrived. The hardest part was choosing which one we loved. The Balboa Baby company has some very fine prints but because we didn’t want to look too girly we decided on the Retro Flower design.
Padded comfort with safety strap, so padded that I can now relax while shopping. |
I can’t praise this shopping cart cover enough. Not only is it a shopping cart cover but it can be used in high chairs as well. Think of those restaurant high chairs. Do you think that they are really sanitized enough for your little one? After that E. coli scare mommy and I are not taking any chances.
This is made from a very padded quilted material that is so comfortable that I can lay back in comfort with no issues. It also provides all around germ free protection. My hands and my face if I decide to put my head down will no longer be touching that nasty shopping cart.
There are elastics around the edges so it doesn’t slip off and there are loops on the shopping cart cover where you can attach toys for your little ones to play with while you shop around in the store and we all know that we can become very impatient if you decide to shop for too long so distractions are always good. They seemed to have thought of everything!
It is very easy to use, so easy that you don’t even need directions. It comes folded in on itself and once you’re done with it you fold it back up. It is small enough to fit in your diaper bag. Very convenient if you ask me and of course it is machine washable. Mommy has already washed mine and besides a few wrinkles it looks just the same as it did on day one. No shrinkage!
