Every once in a while mommy and I find a really amazing product and we just have to share it with everyone. This product that we are going to introduce to you is one of them! This month is National Child Passenger Safety Month and you know by now that mommy and I are big advocates of Child Passenger Safety.

Mommy says that when I was a newborn that the hospital refused to let her take me out of the hospital until I was securely buckled into an infant car seat. Another thing that was not allowed was those nice cozy covers that most parents buy when the weather gets cold. Nothing should come between your little one, your harness and the car seat except light clothing. Mommy was told that only the shower cap style covers were allowed.

So what do you do when the weather gets really cold? Well that’s where the Cozywoggle comes in! The Cozywoggle is the only coat that’s been tested and safe enough to use in your car seat. Want to know why? It is has also been crash tested in a lab and proven to be safe, very safe for use in a car seat.

The Cozywoggle comes in 4 different colors, Navy Blue, Purple, Pink and Red and you know I got a pink one right? The sizes also range from 12m, 18m, 2T, 3T, 4, 5 and 6. I hope that the sizes will eventually go a little bigger so that older kids can wear them as well.

It is very warm and we have been getting cooler days here where I live but not that cold as yet for the Cozywoggle but since I was testing out my new car seat mommy and I decided that we will test it out as well. The following picture is me in my Cozywoggle which looks like the regular typical winter coat. This is how we look in the winter time all bundled up. Yes it’s not safe to put your car seat harness over that bundle. The jackets can compress in a car crash and leave the harness too loose on your little one. That can lead to an ejection in the case of an accident which can lead to serious injuries or even death.

Let me say that it exceeded mommy and my expectations and it was really easy to use. Now there’s a video at the end of my review from the maker of the Cozywoggle which mommy looked at first but she really didn’t need to.

First of all the Cozywoggle fits and looks just like a regular coat with one exception. It totally unzips from the sides right up to the tips of the wrists. This makes it easy for easy placement into my car seat. Here is a picture of me buckled into the car seat with my Cozywoggle on. Remember it’s pretty hot here so mommy didn’t want me to be in it too long because it really is warm and toasty in the Cozywoggle.

Normally you would put your toddler or child in the car take their coats off and then put the coat on backwards after buckling them in their car seat safely. Or you would put your child in the car seat the unsafe way with his jacket on while fiddling with the safety strap trying to adjust it to fit over the bulky coat. This eliminates all that. The Cozywoggle remains on saving you lots of time because all you have to do is unzip the sides, buckle them in and you’re done. Very safe!

Notice that I’m buckled in with my Cozywoggle over my harness but I’m going to be pretty cozy because it doubles as a coat / blanket.

Now here are some really great features of the Cozywoggle besides that very important safety feature. It is made of a polyester outer shell making it wind and water resistant and a very warm and cozy fleece lining and it totally machine washable. The hood is also detachable for those days when its not that cold out and you don’t want to wear your hood. It also has two pockets at the side where I can fit my little fruit snacks when I’m out as well.

My regular readers have heard me say this before that I’m heading to Canada to visit my family living there. It is much colder in Canada where they live than where I am now. I can’t wait to wear my Cozywoggle on my trip. December is going to be a great month full of documentaries of my trip and this will be one of my December highlights. Not only will I be wearing this in the car but I will also be wearing this all winter long. Very fashionable indeed I will be.

Now here is a video by Cherlyn Jenkins the maker behind Cozywoggle explaining how it really works and how to use it.

To sum it all up Cozywoggle is safe, comfy and fashionable and gets my Two Tiny Thumbs Up!
