Can you believe that Valentine’s Day is almost over? I can’t begin to tell you how many Valentine Day projects we’ve done, and I may still decide to share them. We did some adorable stuff, as Madison likes to say. This past week Madison hasn’t been feeling well, and I’ve been busy trying to make sure that she was ok. We’re talking about intense temperatures and very little sleep. There’s something about having a 4yr old in PJ’s crafting and a reason not to leave the house.
Although Easter is more than a month away and we will be home, we, however, will in a different country right before Easter with not much time to craft. So we decided to start on some Easter projects early. I went through our supplies, and we had so much Easter Eggs leftover from our in-home Easter Egg Hunt last year that we decided to do something a bit different with them. Madison is a HUGE fan of tea parties, and we’ll be going to England, which is famous for their tea parties. While she has quite a few tea sets, this is a reasonably inexpensive way to have a tea party. The supplies you need can be found at your local dollar store and a few you may even have at home.
Upcycle Plastic Easter Eggs Teacup
Supplies needed:
Plastic Easter Eggs
Mini Glue Gun (it dries a lot faster)
Stickers
Permanent Markers
Buttons
Directions:
There’s really nothing to this. You know me. The simpler, the better. I personally hate anything that is going to take me a very long time to do. With a pre-schooler who doesn’t have the patience to sit through anything for long periods, this is as easy as it gets.
1. Divide your eggs in half. If they’re attached, you can either pull them apart or cut them apart. We used the pointy ends of the eggs for our project.
2. Attach your button to the bottom of your egg with your glue. We used the glue gun instead of Alene’s Tacky Glue since it dries a lot faster, and there is a lot more control. We LOVE Alene’s for our papercraft/popsicle stick projects.
3. Have your little one decorate to his/her heart’s content with either the stickers or the markers. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and it’s the imperfections that make it uniquely theirs.
That’s it! You’re done! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
See how easy that was? You can do as many as you can, and the designs are only limited to your imagination.
