How to Celebrate National Cheese Curd Day ~ #CheeseCurdDay

Did you know that October 15th is National Cheese Curd Day? Today I share two very simple ways you can celebrate right along with me at Culver’s.

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet

Eating her curds and whey

Along came a spider who sat down beside her

And frightened Miss Muffet away

How many of you remember that nursery rhyme? As a child my mother would sit with me and recite nursery rhymes. While there were many, Little Miss Muffet was one that I remember vividly, because I have always wondered what curds were. Who knew they were delicious cheese goodness, and that there was a day that celebrates such a delicacy? I sure didn’t! I remember the first time I had them and I have to admit that I ended up eating two packages all by myself. It would have been three, but my kids demanded that I share one. Culver’s Cheese Curds are snackable, bite-sized chunks of white and yellow Cheddar cheese, breaded and deep-fried for a warm, buttery crunch, and they are a yummy delectable treat.

Here are some fun facts about Culver’s cheese curds that you may not know.

  • Culver’s cheese is made using farm fresh dairy from Wisconsin family farms.
  • Every Culver’s Cheese Curd comes from La Grander Hillside Dairy in Stanley, Wisconsin, a Culver’s partner for nearly 20 years.
  • A Culver’s Wisconsin Cheese Curd contains one of two types of fresh, cheese: white or yellow cheddar.
  • Culver’s Cheese Curds are breaded with a signature blend of herbs and spices.
  • Finding a heart-shaped Cheese Curd means you’ll have good luck (at least that’s what we believe!).
  • Menu Hack: get a side of Cheese Curds and pile them in your ButterBurger for a taste that’s nothing short of magical.

So how do you celebrate National Cheese Curd Day? It’s really simple.

1. While you can do it alone, I would suggest grabbing a friend or two, or three, and heading to your local Culver’s. You can visit their website to find your nearest location. I know I’ll be there on October 15th to celebrate National Cheese Curd Day and I hope you will be too.

2. Order some of Culver’s delicious Wisconsin cheese curds and enjoy! Be sure to order your own because you won’t want to share. I love dipping mine in marinara sauce, but ranch comes in a very close second.

You may want to do a “cheese pull”, but be sure to do so as soon as your receive your cheese curds as they are at their stretchiest when super hot. You can share your photo on social media using hashtag #CheeseCurdDay.

So will you be celebrating this year?
